About Me

Angie Brunemeyer
6th Grade
Room 22

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

It is my pleasure to have your child in my class.  I am looking forward to working with your child this year and helping him/her to achieve his/her full potential.  My goal this year is that your child develops a thorough grasp of the multiple subject matters.  I hope that this letter will help you to know what to expect in sixth grade this year and answer any questions you may have.

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Angie Brunemeyer. I am beginning my 10th year of teaching at Chapman Elementary. I taught ELD (English Language Development) for the first 2 years and this is my seventh year teaching 10th grade at Chapman. Two years ago, I had the privilege of teaching Fine Arts at four of our local elementary schools. I have a special love for Chapman since it is also the school I attended, K-6th grade. I am thrilled and honored to be working at my "old stomping grounds." I have a great respect for this school!  Through the remainder of this letter, I will share some of my beliefs and classroom procedures.

Homework will be assigned everyday. Please check that your child completes assignments daily. If a student states there is no homework, you can check their Student Weekly Reminder (weekly planner) and/or should contact me for clarification. Should you have any questions or concerns, please send me an e-mail or call me at the school's phone number below. I value your ideas and welcome your suggestions.

Regular attendance and consistent study are two factors that contribute greatly to success in school, as well as parent support. To help your child be more successful, please make sure they are here everyday and on time.  I also strongly encourage you to volunteer in the classroom (whether it is aiding, field trips, and/or any other activities).

I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, almost- monthly newsletters, cit-slips (weekly progress reports), monthly progress reports, classroom website, emails, and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at school 891-3100, send me a note or e-mail me at abruneme@chicousd.org . I am available for conferences regarding your child's progress from 7:40 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and after school by appointment on school days.

Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child's success, confidence and well-being. Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure; free from all threats of physical and emotional harm. In addition, it is important that each child learn to develop self-discipline and good work habits, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to think independently. For these reasons, the discipline plan I have chosen has several components, which you will find in the Discipline Plan that I have sent out with this letter.

In closing, I would just like to say that I am looking forward to a great year working with your child! I would also like to suggest that you save this letter for future reference. Thank-you in advance for your concern and support throughout the year!!!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Brunemeyer
