What is PBIS?

Every student at Chapman is entitled to a safe learning environment. Chapman Elementary school has implemented a school-wide program called Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a nationwide systems approach for establishing the social culture and behavioral supports needed for schools to be effective learning environments for all students. Our aim is to explicitly teach behavioral expectations and then recognize the positive behavior shown by students. The information below describes our PBIS program and ways that you can support this program at home.
